BC Hydro’s Continuous Optimization Program

BC Hydro’s Continuous Optimization program helps commercial building owners optimize the energy efficiency of their building(s) and sustain these efficiency levels over time.

Access to meaningful energy information is essential for achieving this outcome. As part of the Continuous Optimization program, Energy Management Information System (EMIS) solutions have been evaluated and pre-qualified for program participants.

BC Hydro has pre-qualified the EMIS solution from Energy Advantage and Energent and will cover the total cost of installation and licensing for participating organizations.

A Customized EMIS Solution from Energy Advantage and Energent

Energy Advantage and Energent have partnered to develop a comprehensive EMIS solution with capabilities specifically tailored and pre-qualified for the BC Hydro Continuous Optimization program.

The EMIS offering combines statistical energy performance modelling and monitoring & targeting capabilities along with precise bill validation and online tools to track, monitor, and assess energy data and facility energy performance. The solution complies with the IPMVP protocol for measurement and verification.

Energy Advantage, as the prime contractor and primary contact, will work closely with your organization to ensure a quick, seamless, customized integration of the EMIS solution into your operation. This involves the installation of data collection devices to capture your facility energy information and transmit the data via the Internet to our data centre for analysis and reporting to you.

Who is Eligible

Participants in the Continuous Optimization program must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a Building Energy Management system in good working order
  • Can provide documentation including mechanical and electrical schematics; control drawings; testing adjusting and balancing reports; and operational and maintenance reports
  • Have well-maintained equipment and systems
  • Have no major retrofits or tenant improvements planned over the next one to two years.
